SB WRITING CONTEST
Since 1999, Aaron and Peggy Selber have sponsored a writing competition at Sci-Port: Louisiana’s Science Center to encourage new research about the Red River and a deeper understanding of its cultural impacts.
This year, Noma Fowler-Sandlin is the winner of the 2009 Aaron and Peggy Selber Red River Cultural Traditions Writing Contest. Her paper titled “My Little Life Along the Red River” was selected as the best embodiment of this year’s theme “A Sense of Place.”
In recognition of her outstanding paper, Noma received an award in the amount of $1,000. Her name was added to the winners’ plaque and a bound copy of her paper will join past winners’ at Sci-Port’s Red River Gallery.
Click here to join us at SB Magazine in congratulating Noma, and enjoy “My Little Life Along the Red River.”
