Christmas in Roseland at the Gardens of the American Rose Center. Enjoy a fantasy wonderland of lights, holiday scenes and nightly entertainment Tuesdays through Sundays through Dec. 31. Gates are open from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The park is closed Mondays. Admission is $5 per person for up to three people, $15 for vehicles carrying four or more, $50 for mini-busses with 15 to 35 passengers and $75 for motor coaches. Sci-Port's Gingerbread House Competition. Bring your gingerbread creation to Sci-Port Louisiana’s Science Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 6 to be evaluated by an expert judging panel. J. Ryan Gillespie, legendary gingerbread house architect and executive chef at Harrah's Louisiana Downs, will be one of the judges for this year’s competition.
