Before we can begin the review, we have to discuss the name. The owners of the restaurant have a lengthy explanation right on the menu. But the short version is this – it’s close to a Spanish word that means townsquare. So, Zocolo is a place where friends and family can gather to have a good time and enjoy good food.

The restaurant also bills itself as a “Neighborhood Eatery and Drinkery.” Catchy words, eatery and drinkery, although they aren’t really words.

The menu is quite extensive, from steaks and seafood, to pasta and étoufée. They even have a wide variety of sandwiches, burgers and pizzas, if you want to go in that direction. In all, there are dozens and dozens of choices.
